Director's Corner

Wow, another season opening already!

We got off to a great start with an excellent turn-out for History Night on April 9th. A good crowd was generous and appreciative of the efforts of the Museum Association.

This is actually the centennial of the Boy Scouts of America even though the exhibit was begun last year. There are a number of major additions to Dick Lange’s exhibit.

There have been additions and up-grades to the final year of the Italian American Heritage celebration.

The big new permanent exhibit houses a growing collection of Northwestern California Native American Weaving.  Sisson Museum is now showing the Kennedy Collection, the Wheeler Collection and 17 pieces from the Fort Jones Museum. Until May 9th. they are joined by 20 pieces on temporary display from the Turtle Bay Exploration Park.

Welcome to the Director’s Corner

We’ve added this blog section to the website in hopes that it will become a good place for sharing new and interesting results from the on-going research into old Sisson. I am still learning the system, but I hope that we will find that sharing written material as well as photographic or scanned images will become routine. Please jump in with your questions, comments and submissions.
